Red Sky Campground

July 21, 2014

Ted went into Great Falls this morning to see about getting some repairs done on the motorhome.  The authorized Winnebago Dealer only had fifth wheels on the lot and in the garage which didn't give Ted a warm, fuzzy feeling. They couldn't do anything for over a week so we will look for someplace else.  He ran a few other errands before coming home with Subway sandwiches for lunch.

I had an appointment in the afternoon after which we spent a fortune on groceries and sundries.  Shampoo, dish and laundry detergent among other non-edible items really made a difference in the total.  It was great to finally feel we could afford fruit and I bought a ton of it.  A late dinner of lemon pepper chicken, fresh croissants and fruit salad and we were set for the night.

I worked all day on trying to catch up on our blogs.  I had hand written our experiences for twenty-three days and had to type them into the blog as well as choose photos and insert them.  It is a long tedious process but I made progress and only have one more week to catch up on.  Ted puttered around outside and took a nap this afternoon.

We had errands to run in Great Falls and when we got back in the afternoon, I worked some more on catching up the blogs while Ted took a long nap.  We are sitting still just trying to catch up.

I worked most of the day on the blog and only have Going-to-the-Sun Road to finish.  Ted did the epoxy on the front strut, fixed the noise in the pump and replaced the filter in the bathroom faucet.

It took me until afternoon to sort through over three hundred photos and get them into the blog.  I am finally caught up so can start cleaning.  The dust from various campgrounds and road construction seems to have filtered into everything.  Besides that, it is time to treat the cabinets, defrost the refrigerator and scrub the floor.  Everyone has to sit still eventually.

I spent the day cleaning and my body is telling me so.  All the wood in the bedroom and the passenger side of the motorhome has been treated as well as windows and glass cleaned.  Both freezers are defrosted and everything out of the refrigerator with a good cleaning.  Ted did the glass cleaning and then went outside to get away from the loud music that I need to get me in the cleaning mood.  More movies and ice cream to get us through the evening.

On the move again.  We drove today to Craig, Montana.  It is a small settlement on the Missouri River that caters to fishermen and people "floating" the Missouri.  We are about fifty miles south of Great Falls and about thirty miles north of Helena.  There are only a few houses here but several fly fishing shops, a couple of restaurants and a bar.  There are only three RV sites where we are but we have a view across the river towards the hills.  We are just across the railroad tracks from the river and walked over to check it out.  I saw a guy catch a huge trout while I was standing there.  There is a small public campground with no electricity right on the river and Ted had walked over to check it out.  We came back and sat in the shade of a tree to read for awhile.  The temperature was in the eighties but there was a nice breeze that made it pleasant to be outside.

After what seemed like months with little or no signal, we finally got to talk to our grandchildren.  Pietra remembers me from playing with stickers but likes her grampy the best.  I'm not sure that Arthur knows who we are but he is one cute dude.  We had to go over to the fly shop that owns the property we are parked on to get a signal.  We love the great outdoors but it sure wreaks havoc on the use of electronics.  I worked some more at cleaning before calling it a day.
