Ted carried his kayak down to the shore from our campsite and paddled northward to Jackson Lake Dam. Around the point from the marina, there is a gravel beach for the Signal Mountain Cottages.

More Rocky Shoreline |
Leaves were also turning yellow on the Cottonwood and Aspen trees. More round rocks and volcanic rock along the 2 miles of shoreline to the outlet.
The dam is constructed with 20 panels that are raised to control the flow of water. On a whiteboard at the marina was posted 580cfs flowing into the lake and 1490cfs being released. Drawing it down for winter and maintaining a respectable flow for rafting and fishing below the dam.

Not Looking Good |
Looking back toward Signal Mountain, dark clouds were accumulating and the wind was building. Time to retrace my track along the shore which minimized the wind. Shortly before the last point, there were 2 young Bald Eagles perched above allowing their photos to be taken.

Actually, There Were Two |
The final 100 yards came at 1 foot per paddle stroke through choppy whitecaps providing a workout. 45 minutes later, the clouds had moved over and the wind had died.
Meanwhile Sheila finished her quilting project .
