We were on the road before noon on a beautiful, clear sunny day. The ride was pretty uneventful with lots and lots of corn fields. We could see forever in all directions. The roads are straight for miles and miles, even more so than in Florida. Throughout the midwest there are thousands of huge windmills. The blades are a hundred fifty feet long and the control box at the top is as big as our RV. They are quite a site on the horizon but we finally drove by some that were right beside the road.
We arrived at Prairie Village Campground a little after closing so we put our check in their after hours box and drove to the same area we parked last year. We were the only ones staying in this huge campground. In order to get a driver's license in South Dakota, we need to show a receipt from a campground to prove we have a temporary place to stay so we would have to wait until ten the next morning when they opened to get our receipt. We had dinner and enjoyed the beautiful sunset over the prairie.
