Bridger Bowl Ski Area, Park and Flower Garden

Ted rallied and went golfing with Harold again.  Peaches drove me to the Bridger Bowl Ski Area which is not far outside Bozeman.  We drove through the beautiful canyon and past the place she lived when she first came to Montana.  What a great view.  We also passed the big "M" up on the side of the mountain which is for Montana State University.  There are trails leading up to the "M" and she said a crew of volunteers repaint it, I think every year.

When we got back to town, we went to a small, pretty park with a pond for swimming where we had a snack.  There was a big rock there that I thought was a big glacial erratic.  I took a couple pictures and when I got around to the sign, found it was a man-made rock made for climbing.  Oh well.  There were gopher holes everywhere and we watched the cute nuisances playing.  As we were leaving, Peaches told me the park had been built on the landfill.  I shudder to think what must be leaching into that pond.

The son of good friends of Peaches' brother was moving from Minneapolis to Seattle and we were to meet them for lunch when they got into town.  We drove around campus, parked and walked around the neighborhood near where Harold's business used to be.  One of the men who works for the Extension Service that Peaches knows has a beautiful yard with a mixture of flowers and vegetables and we walked a couple of blocks to see it.  Once the friends were within fifteen minutes of arriving, we walked to the roundabout that they would be coming through and sat in the shade on a rock wall to wait for them.  Peaches jumped in the big moving panel truck to show them where to park and I walked with the other two men to the little sandwich shop, The Pickle Barrel, that a friend had told Andrew was a must stop in Bozeman.  The sandwiches are 18" long and Peaches and I each had a half of a half.  Just as we got our sandwiches, it started to rain.  Luckily Peaches knew the owner of the ice cream shop next door and she let us sit inside.  We had a great conversation over lunch and then showed them how to get to the mall where Andrew had ordered a treadmill to be delivered to Sears.  We had to leave to get ready for dinner so were on our way before Sears found the treadmill.

After an hour rest we were on our way to the golf club for a wonderful prime rib dinner with Peaches, Harold and a friend, Joanie, that they golf with.  It may be repetitive but a great meal and great company.
