Museum of the Rockies

Today we were on our own.  I worked on the wall hanging until lunch time and then we went to the Museum of the Rockies which is part of the University of Montana.  Montana has a lot of dinosaur fossils because the layers of tock in the state are at the right peel for when dinosaurs existed.  They have a wonderful display of original and cast dinosaur bones as well as models of what the dinosaurs would have looked like.  A docent was giving talks on the displays and we listened some and read some.

We were just leaving the dinosaur section when they announced the 3:00 planetarium show.  We made our way out of the maze of rooms to the planetarium and found seats in different sections of the crowded room.  It was a good show of what one could see in the summer night sky around Bozeman.

Once the half hour show was done, we went back to see the exhibit on Geckos.  There were at least two dozen display cases with all kinds, sizes and colors of geckos with information on each kind.  Most of them blended in so closely with their environments that it was a challenge to find them.

We took a quick walk around the room with old vehicles and another quick look at the outdoor living history area before returning to the motorhome.  I sewed awhile before starting dinner.  Since it was my turn to cook, we had happy hour in the motorhome.  Peaches made this wonderful hot artichoke dip.  She will be glad when we are gone so she can return to her diet.  We ate in the house and enjoyed their company for one last evening.
